I saw you. It was an endearing image.
You caught my inner eye.
I cannot say to what exactly I was drawn to,
I’ve got this nudging feeling that you’re mine.
I saw you. You stood in masks and playing,
It took my breath away.
I realize it’s silly what I’m saying
But I have longed for you to stay.
You stayed. “Oh, joy!” The haunted sirens wailed.
I missed the glaring signs.
I have allowed to wrap my heart in vail –
Of dreams, love stories, treacherous designs.
I saw you. It was an enthralling image.
You played. You tricked. You wore a mask.
I cannot say who was beneath it,
But glimpse of you felt like a blast.
So, is this poem about love at first sight?
The rhyming and the poem overall was great.
