Happiness is hiding, like a child,
Behind the curtains; inside the purr of a cat.
Happiness is running freely
Through the lavender fields and jumps into the sunset,
To caress the beach, rolling in gentle waves,
And crawls into the arms of the loved one.
Then bursts in laughter, startled by an unguarded kindness,
When the world got darker,
And these hardened by grief eyes
Forgot that happiness is sudden.
Beautiful !

Happiness is running freely
Through the lavender fields and jumps into the sunset,
I love the double entendre, and the way your poem intermingles ‘happiness’ as being separate, yet experienced 🙂
