A calling

so paper-thin

wondering if there’s a tear

if it’s possible even

or tears will mend the fabric

of the nerves

that broke?

evoke the strength

revoke the weakness

she is the judge

she is the witness

of souls burnt out

and built again

she is no angel

nor she is friend

to get used up

and born again

it’s a mark

that’s burning

it’s funny how

they name it

A calling.
