It’s not your fault.
Please, when you kneel before the tombstone
Crying out to the northern winds
and beg skies to reconsider
remember, the fault doesn’t lie with you.
It’s me.
I understand, it’s a cliché phrase
meant to deceive the cowardly heart
from taking responsibility for the pain caused
However, it’s never been more true.
You were enough.
Listen! The deeds I have done
The wounds I have inflicted upon myself
had nothing to do with you and your love
if anything you kept me afloat all this time.
You were mine.
I am sorry I couldn’t give you my life
your dedication nurtured, postponing agony
I am forever grateful to you beloved
But death claimed me long before I’ve met you.
It’s not your fault.
What a refreshing perspective. The point of view from the one that has passed was un expected. Thank you.
