Firefly

Let them pour

not cats and dogs

but a waterfall

of disconnected meanings

phrases

deconstructed down to letters

sounds

incomprehensible gurgle.

let them pour down

and fall

shattering around the mind

that’s scattered

across the galaxy

and farther

searching for this point

that bloomed in whiteness

and birthed darkness

enveloping stars.

a greedy ravenous creature

a suture in techno-colours

sucking out the life

out of eternity

to breathe it in seconds

wasted on the flight

and a flash

of an insignificant firefly

that was not meant

to last.
