You were beatific tonight
wearing a silken smile
richly decorated with happiness
radiating success and confidence.
and I couldn’t believe the incompetence
of the judgy snoots who missed
the radiant perfection.
Unfortunately my affection
should and would stay in shadows
not that it matters when you look delightfully sappy;
a tremor travels down your form
and catches mine.
Darling, don’t you worry –
all I ever ask from you is to be happy,
and then I will, also, be fine.
